Bear Valley Education Foundation
In 2022, after successfully reopening BV School and providing funding for activities like Ski/board P.E, field trips, and other school necessities, the Bear Valley Education Foundation was dissolved and their remaining assets were donated to the Bear Valley Parents Group with the understanding that the original vision and goals for BV School, it’s staff, and students would be upheld. Since then, the BVPG has been working towards building relationships with Alpine County School District, school staff and parents to identify needs and desires for students. We look forward to continuing the work put in by the BVEF board members and creating new enrichment opportunities for students.
Original BVEF mission and vision statement
The Bear Valley Education Foundation believes in the value of supporting and providing young students with diverse non-traditional hands-on learning opportunities alongside a traditional educational curriculum. It is our quest to nurture young people to become passionate, experienced, adventurous, intellectually curious members of our community.
The Bear Valley Education Foundations optimal goal is to support the educational needs of the Alpine County children. We provide financial resources and funding needed to allow extra programs that create understanding of the workings of nature, science and art, while building a heightened sense of discovery, self-esteem, creativity, athleticism, and individuality. With the assistance of our foundation alongside the Alpine County Unified School District we strive to create well-rounded young citizens who are well equipped to be successful in life. When exposing children to traditional education combined with creative programs and learning tools emphasizing nature, science, art and technology, they will be more holistically equipped to succeed as contributing members of their community. Thanks to the unique geographical setting in which the school is located, the classroom floors extend into the mountains, river, lakes, and forests. Our purpose is to create a classroom setting in which the ceilings are as limitless as the sky, the sun, and the stars.
