My name is Sarah and I am so excited to be one of the new directors for Bear Valley Summer Camp! I have spent the last several summers as the Wilderness Director at Camp Augusta in Nevada City. My background includes organizing and guiding week-long backpacking, climbing, horsepacking and rafting trips for kids ages 12-17. When I am not working in the summer camp world, I am a professional ski patrol, where you may recognize me from! I am a certified Wilderness EMT, Leave No Trace instructor, lifeguard, AIARE level 1, and now a licensed blaster for avalanche control. I am passionate about introducing kids to backcountry recreation in a safe, intentional way that helps to foster a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors.
