About our Non-Profit

The current board of BVPG includes Mariah Mathews as sitting president, Mel Rynd as Secretary, and board members are Amy Adams, Devon Bitner, and Krystal Hylton. We have hired Ebbetts Pass Accounting to maintain our financial records.

Meetings are held on a monthly basis and always open to the public. We appreciate other parents and community members who join us at the table to share their thoughts and provide input. The BVPG welcomes anyone who would like to join the group as an active board member or those who would like to join us for a meeting occasionally. Meeting dates and times will be posted on our website calendar, Nextdoor, and notices will be sent to our email list.

Our Mission

The BVPG is a community based organization with the intent to provide safe, fun, and educational programs and events for Bear Valley families and children. We welcome non-residents and second homeowners’ participation and support as together we make this small town a mountain paradise.

Goals

To build and improve enriching opportunities and activities for each of the community programs we support; BV School and Homeschooling, Summer Day Camp, Community Garden, and Busy Bears Playschool.

Current Initiatives

Bear Valley School - Organize and fund Ski/board P.E  program at Bear Valley Mountain Resort. Assist in providing necessary equipment and supplies for the teachers and students.

Bear Valley Homeschooling - Organize and fund Ski/board P.E. Program and Bear Valley Mountain Resort. Assist in organizing enrichment activities for families such as field trips or specified courses.

Busy Bears Playschool - Create a solution for child care and learning for ages 0-4 within Bear Valley. For the past 2 years we have been primarily focused on renovating and reopening a state licensed child care center.

Bear Valley Summer Day Camp - Continue to provide an exciting and educational outdoor based 8 week program for ages 5-12+.

Community Garden - Although high altitude gardening has its challenges and this past season we were not able to set up the garden due to late snow, we hope to rebuild and grow next year!

Recent Accomplishments

In the last few years a new group of parents has come together to make up the BVPG and in that time we have been able to relaunch the Bear Valley Summer Day camp after 3 years of hiatus, add high grade water filters to Bear Valley School to improve drinking water quality, purchase Tower Garden supplies for student to restart their indoor garden, host the annual Halloween Bash fundraising event, and now host our monthly Family Movie Night at the Bear Valley Lodge.
